This is one of my favorite slider recipes! You can enjoy them year round, but they are especially a great way to enjoy summer holidays and events! I love throwing these together for Fourth of July, Memorial Day or even as an easy lunch by the pool or beach! In the fall, they are not only a great way but my favorite way to use that leftover thanksgiving turkey to make leftover turkey sliders!

    Ingredients

    • 12 Count Soft Hawaiian Rolls: Soft and sweet dinner rolls that provide a perfect base for sliders.
    • Mesquite Smoked Deli Turkey Breast: Tender slices of turkey infused with a smoky mesquite flavor.
    • Provolone Cheese: Mild and creamy cheese that melts beautifully.
    • Butter: Rich and creamy, it adds flavor and helps the sliders achieve a golden brown finish. Use either salted butter or unsalted butter based on preference.
    • Fresh Garlic, Minced: Adds a punch of aromatic and savory flavor.
    • Dried Chives: Delicate and slightly oniony, they enhance the overall taste with a subtle herby note.
    • Everything But The Bagel Seasoning: A mix of sesame seeds, sea salt, garlic, and onion that adds a delightful crunch and burst of flavor.

    See recipe card for quantities.

    Instructions

this shows me slicing my hawaiian rolls horizontally through the center and then adding turkey slices on top.
    1. Pre-heat oven 350 F and set your rack to the middle position.
    2. Using a large chef’s knife or serrated knife, slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally through the center. Grab the bottom layer of the rolls and place them in a 9×13 baking dish or baking sheet.
    3. Next, evenly distribute the turkey slices across all of the rolls in an even layer,
this shows me adding the provolone cheese on top of the buns, followed by the top of the rolls and then slicing along the seams.

followed by your slices of provolone. Then add on the top layer of your Hawaiian rolls. Use a knife to cut your rolls along the seams to create individual sandwiches.

this shows me adding butter to a small microwaveable bowl and then adding in the chives and garlic to the melted butter.

    4. Set your pan to the side. In a small bowl, add in your butter and then microwave for about 30 seconds until your butter is melted. Then add in your minced garlic and chives.

this shows me adding the butter mixture on top of my buns and then putting the dish in the oven to bake.

For best results, use a basting brush to add the butter mixture on top of your buns in an even layer. Then sprinkle with some everything but the bagel seasoning, to taste.

    5. Bake your rolls for 14-16 minutes or until your cheese is melted and the tops of the buns are golden brown. Serve with a side salad for an easy meal and enjoy!

    Substitutions

    • Turkey Breast -Although turkey is your leanest protein option, you may use ham or roast beef if you don’t like or have any turkey.
    • Provolone Cheese – Feel free to substitute for cheddar, Colby jack, pepper jack or any other sliced cheese! Choose low-fat for a healthier option!
    • Everything But the Bagel Seasoning (EBTB)– Use poppy seeds if you don’t have or like EBTB seasoning.
    • Fresh Garlic Cloves– use garlic powder if you dont have fresh garlic cloves on hand.
    • Chives– Use other fresh herbs such as basil, parsley, and dill if you don’t have or can’t find chives!
    • Dairy-Free– Use vegan butter or coconut oil and dairy-free cheese to make this recipe dairy-free.
    • Gluten-Free- Use gluten-free Hawaiian rolls (Canyon Bakehouse makes some) to make this recipe gluten-free.
    • Vegetarian– Skip the turkey and only use cheese to make melty cheese sliders!

    Variations

    • Spicy – Add a red pepper paste or a hot gardenia mix on top of the provolone to make this recipe spicy!
    • Deluxe – Add in shredded lettuce, tomatoes and pickles to make a deluxe version of this recipe!
    • Cheeseburger sliders– Use cooked ground beef patties and sesame seeds instead of everything but the bagel seasoning to make cheeseburger sliders!
    • Worcestershire sauce-Add worcestershire sauce on top of the provolone cheese to add some additional flavor and depth!

This recipe is already toddler and kid-friendly on it’s own!

I made a half recipe! Also, I used cajun turkey because I could not find the mesquite seasoning. Mine turned out a little salty but I think that might have been my everything bagel seasoning! Super tasty and easy to make!!!

I’m so glad you love it Keira!!!! Cajun tends to be more salty, maybe that was contributing too!!!

These were so delicious! The garlic butter was my favorite part. I used Havarti cheese instead, it was all I had and they came out great. Next time I’m going to try a ham & swiss version.
