These Crock Pot Garlic Butter Steak Bites are about to become a weeknight favorite. Made with tender stew meat, fresh garlic, sliced onions, and rich buttery flavor, this recipe transforms basic cuts of beef into juicy steak bites that melt in your mouth.
2poundsstew meat – or use cubed round steakchuck roast, or top sirloin steak for best results. Cut into bite-sized pieces.
1yellow onionsliced or chopped
1teaspoonkosher salt
¾teaspoonblack pepper
1teaspoongarlic powder
1teaspoononion powder
4clovesfresh garlicminced
½stick unsalted buttersliced into pats
8ozbaby bella mushroomsoptional but delicious
Optional additions: a splash of Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce for depth of flavor, or ½ teaspoon little brown sugar for a sweet-savory balance, you can also add in a splash of unsalted beef stock or beef broth to make a richer broth.

Add the beef stew meat to the bottom of the slow cooker.
Top with sliced onion, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and minced garlic.
Use clean hands or tongs to mix well and evenly coat the meat with seasoning.
Layer pats of unsalted butter over the top. Scatter in the mushrooms if using.
Cover and slow cook on LOW for 5–7 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the steak cooks down into tender bites of steak and the juices are bubbling.
