These chicken feta spinach burgers are made with a few simple ingredients that I combined into a medium bowl and then pan seared to create a juicy, delicious, and healthy burger that I served with a whole grain bun for additional fiber, and my favorite toppings!

Ingredients
- Ground Chicken (or ground turkey): This will serve as a healthy lean protein source for this dish
- Crumbled Feta: You can either crumble the feta yourself or by pre-crumbled feta.
- Fresh Spinach, Finely Chopped: This adds important vitamins, minerals and fiber to the dish.
- Salt & Pepper, To Taste: Make sure not to add too much salt as the feta itself is pretty salty!
- Garlic Powder, To taste
- Italian Seasoning, To taste
- Avocado Oil: High smoke point oil that’s heart healthy and perfect for cooking.
Serve with:
- Whole Grain Burger Bun: I used the Dave’s Killer Bread Brand
- Beefsteak Tomatoes, Sliced
- Butter Lettuce
- Avocado, Sliced
- Ketchup
- Diced and Air-Fried Sweet Potatoes: I used the Roots Brand Sweet Potato “Croutons”

Instructions
- In a medium bowl combine your ground chicken or turkey, crumbled feta, finely chopped fresh spinach, salt, pepper, garlic powder and Italian seasoning, to taste. Using your hands, mix until everything in the bowl is well combined and all the seasonings are evenly distributed.
- Using your hands, create four, even sized balls using the meat mixture and place them on a large, clean plate. Gently press down to create four separate patties.
- Add in your avocado oil to a large skillet on medium heat and when the oil is hot, gently add in your chicken patties. Depending on how large your skillet is, you may need to cook 2 at a time. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the outside of your patty appears to be a nice brown color and the inside of your patty reaches an internal temperature of 165 F.
- Serve your patty on whole grain burger buns and your favorite toppings. Serve with a side salad or some diced sweet potatoes. Enjoy!
Hint: You can also turn these chicken feta spinach burgers into mini sliders or meatballs depending on your preference as well!
Substitutions
- Ground Chicken – as mentioned several times, you can substitute ground chicken for ground turkey.
- Gluten-Free– the recipe itself is gluten-free, however, if you are serving the patty with a burger, make sure to use a gluten-free bun to make this recipe gluten-free.
- Dairy-Free- Although I have not personally tried this, feel free to substitute the feta for dairy-free feta alternative to make this recipe dairy-free.
Variations
- Spicy – add chili pepper flakes to the meat mixture to make this recipe spicy!
This recipe is kid-friendly!

All you need to make these chicken feta spinach burgers are:
