Balanced Baby Teethers for Baby Led Weaning

Baby teethers don’t offer many nutrients on their own. These balanced baby teethers for baby led weaning are perfect for your little one’s meal or snack and they will add in the nutrient density your baby needs to be able to grow and develop.

This is a photo of a baby led weaning friendly meal or snack. It contains baby teethers with peanut butter for fat, yogurt for protein and strawberries and blueberries for nutrients and fiber.

    Ingredients

All you need to recreate this meal or snack idea is this:

    • Baby teethers of your choice
    • Peanut Butter
    • Hemp Seeds
    • Chia Seeds
    • Greek Yogurt
    • Berries

See recipe card for more details

    Instructions

    1. All you need to do is unwrap 2 baby teethers, lather about 1 teaspoon of peanut butter onto each teething cracker. Sprinkle with about ⅛ teaspoon of chia seeds and hemp seeds.
    2. Serve with 2 tbs of greek yogurt and some freshly cut berries of choice.

Hint: Don’t add too much peanut butter on to your teething crackers beyond what is recommended in the recipe. The thickness of the peanut butter can be a choking hazard if too much is added on. Also, slice your berries according to your child’s age to minimize choking hazards. You can refer to the solid starts website if you are not sure on how to serve certain foods to your baby.

    Substitutions

    • Peanut butter – if your child has a peanut butter allergy, feel free to substitute for any other nut or seed butter.
    • Greek Yogurt– feel free to substitute the greek yogurt for a plant based alternative.
    • Berries– substitute the berries with whatever other fruits you have on hand.

    Variations

    • Avocado teethers- serve the teethers with avocado to make baby avocado toasts
    • Cream cheese teethers- serve with cream cheese to make baby cream cheese toasts
    • Hummus- serve with hummus to make baby hummus toasts

    Equipment

You don’t need any special equipment to make this recipe.

Here is one of my favorite baby led weaning plates.

    Storage

These balanced baby teethers for baby led weaning do not store well.

    Top tip

Make sure to serve the teething crackers right away or they will start to become soggy!

    FAQ

What else can I add if my kid is allergic to peanut butter?

If your child has a peanut butter allergy, feel free to substitute for any other nut or seed butter such as sun butter or pumpkin butter.
