This fall harvest chicken apple sausage sheet pan dinner is not only perfect for busy weeknights but it’s also great for meal prep! For the Main Dish:
- Sweet Potatoes, Diced
- Brussels Sprouts, Halved
- Chicken Sausage, Sliced
- Avocado Oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Paprika
For the Dressing:
- Dijon Mustard
- Honey
- Fresh Garlic, Minced
- Salt
- Pepper

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 F and set your rack to the middle position.
- Add your diced sweet potatoes, halved brussels sprouts, sliced chicken sausage to a extra large (21x 15) sheet pan. Drizzle your vegetables with avocado oil and add in your seasonings. Toss until all the seasonings are evenly distributed and your chicken sausage and vegetables are in an even, single layer.
- Bake for 20-23 minutes or until your vegetables are cooked through or fork tender.
- While your sheet pan meal is in the oven, add your dijon mustard, honey, fresh garlic, salt and pepper into a bowl and whisk together to make a glaze.
- Once your sheet pan meal is ready and out of the oven, drizzle on your glaze and serve. If you are meal prepping, you can either add your glaze on immediately or store it in a separate container until you are ready to serve. Store in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Hint: If you don’t have an XL baking sheet and you aren’t able to get your chicken sausage and vegetables in an even, single layer, use two separate sheet pans.
Substitutions

- Toddler friendly– Chicken sausage can be high in sodium, nitrates and pose a choking hazard. To make this recipe toddler friendly, substitute chicken sausage with chicken breast.

Would maple syrup be a good substitute for honey when making dinner with babies under one? Also, what’s a good natural sweetener for honey for people cutting out all added sugars?

Yes, maple syrup is great for babies under 1! Honey is a natural sweetener as is maple syrup, they are both refined sugar free but they are still both considered “added sugars” when adding them in recipes. The only thing you could potentially use for natural sweetness are dates 🙂 hope that helps!
