Ingredients
- Earl grey tea bag
- Hot water
- Milk of choice (I chose oat milk for extra creaminess and to make it dairy-free)
- Vanilla extract
- Maple syrup
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
- Using the hot water and tea bag, brew a cup of hot earl grey tea according to your strength preference.
- If you are using a hand frother: Add in your milk, vanilla extract and maple syrup into a separate cup or container. Give it a quick stir and heat according to preference. Once your mixture is heated through, use a hand frother to froth your milk for 5-10 seconds until there are a few but not many air bubbles incorporated. If you are using a milk steamer: add your milk, vanilla extract and maple syrup directly into the milk steamer and allow it to work until your mixture is heated through.
- Pour your steamed milk on top of your brewed tea! Enjoy!
Hint: I like to leave the earl grey tea bag in my drink to make it super strong. The longer you steep your tea, the more tannins come out which can result in a bitter after taste. Although I personally don’t mind that, it is something to be mindful of.
